Itinerary

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel in Thamel. Afternoon fixing your mountain bikes and exploring Thamel, followed by welcome drinks and dinner with your Manaslu expedition guide.

Load up the mountain bikes and drive to Arughat which takes around 7 to 8 hours with beautiful scenery along the way as you cut through the foothills of the Himalaya and into the heart of Dhading District. Take some time to explore the beautiful village of Arughat. Here you will find a local Market and central place for all people from the remoter regions, where kids come down to study and village people come down to buy and trade food stuffs and other items. Accommodations: Local Hotel.

One and a half hours of rideable jeep track to Soti Khola from where we pick up the trail running parallel to the mighty Budi Gandaki River . The trail turns into narrow single tracks below towering cliffs. From Soti Khola to Maccha Khola is 35% rideable, the rest is carry up rocky steps. There is great views of waterfalls and cliffs and nice jungle.

A solid nine hours(Including lunch) of technical trail today sees us cross the Machha Khola (Fish River) and follow its banks upwards to a hot springs at Tatopani. We climb steadily along the river, 35% of this trail is rideable and there are some tough carry and pushing sections. The trail is not for the faint hearted, as it’s a very narrow single track with a big cliff drop.

Today we have again (25 K.M) riding with (1100 M) of climbing but today we have (50%) of riding and (50%) of pushing and carrying the landscape is same as before but we have some forest section with the nice single track the first half way is harder carry and push but after place call philim we have a nice riding to the nearby hotel we need to push our bike for 10 to 15 minutes before the hotel. Deyng is very small village with few houses.

This day we have (20 K.M) of riding with (1250 M) of climbing the trails is all single track with (60%) of riding rest of push and carrying the view is amazing with lots of waterfall. Namrung is small village but nice we can see the view of Lugur Himal and just before the Namrung we have (45 MIN) of carrying section all uphill.

This day we have (80%) of riding total distance is about (17 K.M) and (1200 M) of climbing this day we have a very nice view we can see the Manaslu Himal and we ride through the beautiful village and also we have on the way one big monastery which is in halfway we can visit that also in our riding. When we arrived in Samagaun we have connected with the internet after four days the hotel is good than before four days.

Today we have total (13 K.M) riding with (1000 M) of climbing the first (4 K.M) is rideable then push and carry to the place call Samdo and we have lunch in here then after lunch we have total (6 K.M) of riding which is all climbing but some part is rideable but still we can’t ride because of the altitude, even (6 K.M) also takes three hours. this day we gonna spend the night in Dharamsala which is very basic we might not get the room but also they have tents.

Today is the hardest day of this trip. We start from the hotel (5:00 A.M). in the morning from the hotel to Larke pass (5136m) is 6.5 K.M with 700m of climbing but it takes more than three hours. When we reach the pass then we can enjoy the views of Larke pick, Mt. Manaslu, Ratna chuli with lots of mountains. after Larke pass we have (8 K.M) with 1400m decanting to the Bhimthang but the first (2.5 K.M) downhill is very steep with lots of rocks and some ice section then after trails is slowly goes to the down and during to ride this section we also able to see some ice lake and nice mountains. This day we have all push and carry only the few sections is able to ride. This day we have another nice place to spend our night in Bhimthang. we can see all around beautiful mountains.

Today we have longest ride in our trip total distance (32 K.M) and climbing (600 M) but the downhill is about (2300 M) but the first (8 K.M) is very rocky so we need to carry and push also some places we can ride then after that we have nice and long single track through the forest section till place call Tilcho. then after Tilcho we cross the suspiration bridge then we riding on jeep track all the way to place call Dharapani from there we gonna join the Annapurna route which is busy after Dharapani we have (12 K.M) to the Chyamche which is fast downhill but also some sweet climb.

The Last day in the saddle is a 20km of fun downhill riding on rugged jeep tracks. We will meet our river guides for lunch next to the mighty turquoise blue Marshyangdi River and paddle until we reach our evening campsite in Paudi.

After your refreshing paddling adventure through some challenging and technical rapids, you will enjoy lunch along with the riparian buffer of the Marshyangdi in Sal Bisneh Community Forest. There, you will be fed a local farm to table lunch and learn from the indigenous fishers what it means to be a subsistence fishing community in the hills and what Nepal’s demand for hydropower means or the future of the community. Following Lunch, you will paddle to the take-out point in Turture and catch a ride to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you’ll have some time to rest at your hotel and get ready for a recap evening of drinks + music to celebrate your double watershed expedition with the HOC team!
