Itinerary

With a very pleasant warm water temperature the Lower Seti is a perfect for families, first-timers, nature lovers and is where we host our Beginner Kayak Clinic. The Lower Seti passes through two unique ecoregions with notable contrast of high-hill terraced farmlands, waterfalls, suspension bridges and a beautiful white sandy beach for camping under the stars. Starting in Pokhara and finishing near the Chitwan National Park, this is a great way to get off the beaten track and enjoy a refreshing alternative to traveling by road. **This carbon-neutral trip is also a lovely way to cut half out half of the drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.**

We will depart at 7:00 am from Lakeside, Pokhara and head towards the put-in just below the Damauli bridge at the confluence of the Lower Seti and Madi rivers. You will see an alluvial fanning, making the floodplain a perfect spot to warm up your river arms. After a few hours of paddling some thrilling whitewater, we will hit the sandy beach and refuel with a nourishing lunch to get us to our pristine campsite surrounding by nothing but nature, an indigenous Gurung village and the rushing water. Seti is known for an array of bird species, so keep your bird watcher’s eyes wide open. At the campsite, we will dine by the campfire and if it’s clear out, our naturalists will share their vast knowledge of constellations, local folklore, and Nepali music.

Rise n’ Shine! Start your day with a hearty breakfast and get ready to paddle a couple of hours of back to back rapids until we meet with the confluence of the Trisuli River. Once we unload our boats, you will eat lunch and either journey to Chitwan, Kathmandu, or back to Pokhara.
